Is it alright to ask for emulator help? If not I'm sure you can edit this out. :9

I get errors when opening any games.
ok for ps2 i get
unable to load bios: "bios/" ,psx2 cant run without it
for gamecube it says gcm not iso must be used and i dont know how to convert it.
Also if i put anything unaccaptable for the forums I apologize as it is a thin line. I would hate to get a site ban and will drop this whole topic if that is most wise.

Re: Question
Actually, that's an interesting question. Is there something that works well (nice and transparent during game play) for purely legit, actual CD purchased and available, operation? I downloaded a trial version of something from slysoft to see if I could run whatever without having to swap CD's all the time (seriously, I had to pick up another copy of BF2 for $10 since I wore out the original
) but I kept getting pauses during play. It would be way cool if I could, for a reasonable cost, not wear out my BF2142 or BF: SF discs...

Daemon tools will let you mount an iso (or other) image of a CD, but copy protection thwarts a lot its usefulness. Then crap like SecuROM don't allow you to use Daemon Tools because it's used by software pirates... A real pain in the ass. Until they go to all digital distribution (Go Steam, go!) you'll be stuck with CDs. Personally, I buy anything I can from Steam now adays. EA has their downloadable content too, but they put some sort of limitation on how many times you can download and whatnot.

Re: Question
Heya WileE!
Is Steam good about keeping track of your purchase history, or do you have to lock away a backup of that download somewhere to use in the event of system failures, new/re-freshed systems, etc.? I'm thinking about getting Armed Assault, but I'm a Steam virgin...Will they be gentle with me?

I've been very impressed with Steam. It's kept track of all my purchases through 4 or 5 reinstalls so far. I've even bought non-Valve titles from them and it's worked flawlessly. You have the ability to back your purchased software to DVD (It's built into Steam) so you don't always have to re-download everything if you reload if you don't want to, but it's fairly simple to do so.

Re: Question
That sounds pretty painless... I just may have to give it a go!
I think I'll install my dusty copy of XP Pro 64, and then jump on the x-fire & steam bandwagon. Sounds like X-fire will be good for finding buddies on BF2, too. I'd play that more often if I could find a few folks to squad up with once in a while. Maybe finish my taxes first, before risking a new game addiction.
