Server Issues
Okay...Why is it that I get about 20 Frames less per second on the TTP server as compared to when I go to a different server? I thought it could be internet lag, so I loaded up FRAPS. And, as I thought, my rates were a lot lower on TTP.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix it?
Thanks...

Re: Server Issues
i basically have some of those issues as more people get on the server and i think part of my issue is the significant ping lags i get from the 2 server hops just before the TTP server both of those list up as dallasservers i believe but i could be wrong.i get like 7 ping in casper and cheyenne and 13 in denver then it jumps to 36 and 54 in the dls servers it hits. seems like to me it says...heh this one is not a native texan so we can lag him out

I know that with fraps running sometimes the fps can be worse than without. If you want to display your FPS in game, use "renderer.drawfps 1" which will show you your FPS in the top right corner in red. Better have glasses though or squint cause it's tiny.
Sometimes I like to ping a server for hours and see if there are any timeouts. For TTP I believe you can use "ping 72.232.220.90 -t". I go through 12 hops and I'm in Toronto. I ping about 40.
Lately I've found lots of chop on a lot of servers that I've pubbed on, including TTP and my ping was fine. Maybe someone is coughing packets

It's a cool concept but I don't know if it actually works in practice and if it is noticeable.
