Target you're the man! I did these steps and started up CSS. It gave me the same old "out of date driver crap," but when i exed that and joined the ttp server, it worked, i got in!

Apparently my driver's still out of date though. That part wasn't a directx problem. CityBoy: what's an omega driver? Is that an older version or something? Different company?

At this point, i'm happy just to have the game running, but i'm still puzzled by the steam error. Thanks guys, i love this community!

This is the latest drivers that Dell offers. If this doesn't work then I would suggest trying to either mod the current ATI driver with the info I posted or try the Omega drivers.

Just so you guys know, i ran the video stress test with all the video settings on high with my Dell driver and got 9.79 fps. I posted what i got on this thread: http://www.texasteamplayers.com/inde...7604#msg457604

Then, i installed the omega drivers, to see if the quality was any better, and i got 9.7 fps. So, the omega driver is basically the exact same. Maybe that's what you guys were expecting, but i was hoping to get a little more juice out of the old X1400.

I guess i'll stick with the Omega driver, since it has some cool features like overclocking that my Dell driver didn't have. And i don't get the error message when CSS starts up. Thanks again guys for the helpful replies.

Well, im sitting here on my couch slumped.... B2K doesnt release untill around 3:00 today (pacific), Im so angry now... lol i woke up all hella early just to get down on some Wake Island before school NOPE!... anger!



But i have to say, i didnt like dead island at all the game turly just make me so depressed, i thought the missions where dumb as hell, i explored the enitre island and it was so damn small... the cars and sh*t was cool, i liked the fully open maps, but the gameplay reminded me of Crysis..

I have to say BF3 all the way, besides some minor setbacks.:waves:

And Dead island TOTALY SUCKED!

i'm actually a converter from cod:mw to bf3. it took me a little while to get used to, but the huge battle maps are awesome and i love the team gameplay aspect.

although sometimes i'll go back to mw3 for some more shoot-em-action

if the guys over at bf created a zombie mode like cod, that would probably be insane. HUGE maps with hordes of zombies and you need to rely on team work and strategy to survive in those battlefield zones.
