That Abit is a MicroATX and does not have SLI support in its future due to there being only one 16x slot.
The Asus is BIOS-flashable to support Phenom, but you would be better served by a more modern chipset.
If I was buying one right now, I would wait just a bit for the Nvidia 750a chipsets to be common enough for there to be several board choices in the $100-$150 range.
Sleep, eat, conquer, meditate, repeat.

Re: Help a fool out
Dude, its ok.. My AMD is just fine. Stock @ 2.5 is plenty. I have it OC'd at 2.75. Nothing wrong with my processor. Even then, once the bios updates for that Asus come out, I can save up for a Phenom Quad-Core. Then do the step up program thingy with EVGA and get another card and SLI it out.

I like the idea of going with the card that syrr pointed out---> 8800GTS 512. I would like to suggest getting an AM2/AM2+ socket if you wanna go with a phenom later. Here is a nice board that aint too expensive.

yea the phenoms are backwards compatible but wouldn't you rather run it on an am2+?
