First of all, both those mobos are a no-go. The first being being that its socket AM2, and they are made by Biostar.

And as for the Graphics card, the 8800 GT would be the fastest.

This mobo would be SO much better if Socket 775 is an option for you.

If you are stuck with AM2, go with something like this.

I have an AM2 processor. The AM2's work on the AM2+ mobo's. What's wrong with Biostar?

That Asus that you posted won't work with that 8800GT graphics card. The mobo is a PCI Express x16 and the card that im getting is a PCI Express x16 2.0

The card will work in PCI-E x16 slots as well and you will not see any difference in performance.

    100% sure

Also, if you are good with waiting on rebates, this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814134037
cannot be beat for price/performance. $169 after rebate makes it cheaper than many 8800GTs and it will have a slight performance edge on them.

Its been done many times. Dont worry about it plus there isnt suppose to be much of a difference on a 2.0 mobo.

I've had bad experiences with their products dieing out in a very short time.

As for you having an AM2 processor, that is fine and it will work on AM2+, and PCI-E 2.0 will run on a PCI-E 1.0, and i can speak from experience because i have a 9600 GT running on a socket 939 board.

    Re: Help a fool out

Ok so I read that it is compatible.. But If the PCI-e x16 2.0 runs twice as fast.. why not get the Biostar with the 2.0 slot? Why get the Asus with the regular PCI-e x16? I know Asus is a kick ass brand, but why if the Biostar will run it faster?
