    Chew on This!!

    Re: Chew on This!!

most people who overclock are not desperate, they are just hobbyist types who want to get every ounce out of their hardware, like heavy said. i bought a brand new rig in december and OC'd it almost immediately. OC'ing is like an art, you get it stable. I have not had any problems and im 6 months into it. It is true that there are some people out there who OC because of necessity but most I see on OC'ing sites and forums do it for fun and hobby, their rigs are powerful even at stock settings.

    Re: Chew on This!!

Every rig I get, I will OC.

My first rig never broke down on me. Had it OC'd for about 2 1/2 years. Then I upgraded to new shit and I'm OC right now.

And now I'm getting even newer shit, so expect me to OC that as well.

My manhood is also overclocked. Need to find a good heatsink for it, because it gets really hot sometimes.

    Left 4 Dead 3 Surviors/Campaign Ideas

    Hey everybody!
So after last week's E3 and the discussions of the absence of new Valve releases, it got me thinking for the possibilities that Left 4 Dead 3 could provide and got me really excited. After much thought, I realized that despite gameplay changes, what I most want to see from Left 4 Dead 3 is new settings and survivors. I've seen multiple posts on awesome locations for L4D3 and I though it would be even cooler to bring them all together into one just flat out epic game. But in my opinion, if we just jump from one city to another, the campaign will lose its overall theme. However, I came up with one exception to that rule. Hollywood. Think about it. Hollywood is filled with movie sets and landmarks that would just be fun to explore. In one campaign, you could venture through the set of a Old Western film, or another through a set of a movie like "Saw" that would scare the balls off you, or another that is exploring the brightly lit streets of the city! Speaking of which, Hollywood could also allow for a shift from the mostly rural locations in L4D 1 & 2 to a much more urban environment. I won't go in depth into specific ideas for campaigns and such, because there are so many possibilities that Hollywood has to offer. BUT I will go in depth on my character ideas, because their dialogue and presence can equally set the mood as the game's setting would. So, staying with movie theme, I believe that some of the characters should be involved with the industry to the same extent, as they are from the same environment. Without further ado, here are just some ideas for the survivors that I think would be awesome inclusions into the Left 4 Dead universe.

    Name: Blake
    Age: 24
    Sex: Male
    Race: Caucasian
    Occupation: Actor/Model
    Hometown: Los Angles, California
    Weight: 160 lbs. Height: 6' 4''
Blonde Hair. Muscular. Tall. Young. Not so bright. Model. Actor. Your stereotypical 'pretty' Hollywood boy. That's what Blake represents. After living a life a pure luxury, his money and fame carries no weight once the world is pretty much over. He has been involved with the industry literally his entire life. Even as a young child, he was the one who was on the cover of a Pamper's diapers and other baby advertisements. He has been involved in countless movies and other forms of media. In fact, he was at the peak of his career once the infection hit, being considered an A-list actor. Now he must provide for himself now that all of his managers and butlers are a part of the undead. What he lacks in street smarts and well, just smarts in general, he makes up for in physical strength and abilities. He's actually even been a part of zombie movies before and attempts to utilize those strategies for his group. Though he often gets grief for his occasional cockiness and stupidity from the group, he often proves himself in survival situations and is actually a very kind person. But kindness does very little once surrounded by a horde of infected.

    Name: Sofía
    Age: 48
    Sex: Female
    Race: Latino
    Occupation: Personal Trainer
    Hometown: Los Angeles, California
    Weight: 135 lbs. Height: 5' 3''
When you picture Sofía, think of a hybrid of Jillian Michaels and Michelle Rodriguez. Yeah, she's just that badass. She is easily the most competent of any female survivor in L4D history, and is the first ever female leader in its history as well. Yup, she joins the likes of Bill and Coach. As a poverty stricken Hispanic African that lived in the slums of L.A., she's had a hefty experience with danger. Though she lost her husband and daughter to the infection, she very rarely shows her vulnerable side. Instead, she hones that emotion into pure anger against the undead. Sofia is a very crude and blunt person, who often believes her strategies are the most efficient to the group's success, since she's lived in the L.A. for the longest time period in all the group. For these reasons, she can often be perceived as the rude, bossy, muscular chick of the group, when, actually, her ultimate goal is the group's survival. A difficult goal, to say the least.

    Name: Koji
    Age: 36
    Sex: Male
    Race: Asian
    Occupation: Stunt Double
    Hometown: Osaka, Japan
    Weight: 140 lbs. Height: 5' 9''
You thought that actors in Kung-Fu movies did their own stunts? Think again, that's what Koji does! Or well, did, now that the infection has hit the west coast. Though his hometown is in Japan, he has lived in the L.A. area since he was 21, in pursuit of a better life. Once the zombies overan the streets of the city, Koji used his agility and melee weapons skills to survive and meet up with the other members of the group. Even after 15 years in America, he still has yet to perfect the English language, causing him to be the most soft spoken member of the group. When he does speak, he actually proves to have a broad sense of humor and intelligence, because of his experience in the movie industry, to navigate through the various set pieces. Despite his overall friendly attitude, he actually prefers to work alone, as he feels his abilities are sufficient to survive the horde alone. However, one wrong turn without a partner in this infected world could mean certain death.

    Name: Mabel
    Age: 57
    Sex: Female
    Race: Cauasian
    Occupation: Elementary School Teacher
    Hometown: Alma, Kansas
    Weight: 210 lbs. Height: 5' 5''
After living a dull life in one of the smallest towns in the United States, this school teacher wanted to travel on one last vacation to a huge city with her husband and children before her kids went away to college. Almost immediately after they reached their hotel in Los Angeles, the infection broke lose and Mabel's loved ones were turned into mindless freaks. Due to her immunity to the disease, she barely made it out of the hotel in one piece. When she was found by the other 3 members of the group, she had a gun in her mouth, on the verge of suicide. Though she ultimately never pulled the trigger, she often serves as the counterpart to Sofia's grim personality. Her personality ranges from her caring, elementary school teacher attitude to emotional breakdowns with spurts of both anger and sadness. It often take the motivation of the other members in order for her to keep on going. As a heavy set, elderly, common worker, Mabel appears to be an inadequate zombie slayer that would slow down the group. However, she is often underestimated, for she can actually hold our own against the undead, due to her hunting experience in her small town society in Kansas. Also, in this environment, she's all this group has left.

Well there you have it! Thanks for reading and I hope you like it! Remember these are just fun ideas, and feel free to add you won suggestions.

I like the idea, actually. Especially how you managed to take all these personalities and put them into one group. It'd make for an extremely interesting game. Heh, I bet Blake and Sofia would be hilarious when they talked to each other.
