Thread: Tf2 wont get past the loading screen...

I was playing tf2 today and suddenly my computer restarted mid-play. After the restart I tried starting up TF2 and it got past the valve logo screen, but got stuck on the TF2 loading screen. After alt+f4-ing and ctrl+alt+del-ing it finally exited and i got that debugger thing that told me steam had suffered an error blah blah, nothing specific.

I just tested Episode 2, and CS and both work fine. It just seems to be TF2. Any ideas?

Right now Im thinking re-install...hmmmm

Reinstall didn't help.

Captain Coors has been helping me and we think it has something to do with my launch options. Any ideas?

Steam> Games> right-click TF2> Properties> under Local Files tab> verify integrity of game cache

you install a recent driver update?

I had the exact same problem in the middle of my PCS when I tried to put my Steam games on the wife's laptop. DoD worked. CSS worked, but TF2 would not launch. I never did get it fixed. We got settled in and my gaming rig was back so I did not fix the TF2 on the laptop.
What OS are you using?

XP. Ill check for driver updates now.

Updated Drivers - No help.
Deleted Local Content, then reinstalled - No help
Verified Cache integrity - No help
Deleted ClientRegistry.blob file - No help
Fiddled with launch options such as "-novid" and "-autoconfig" - No help

Maybe I need to reinstall steam?

And If I did that, would I have to reinstall all of my games again too?
