    Re: HELP Recovering lost partion!

At the time i was using 7.10 64bit live cd, the drive (180gb) was at the time partitioned roughly:
    |unpart size|~125gb ntfs | 12gb ubuntu | 1.3gb swap | 8mb mb | 4.5gb unpart |

You can see why i was moving things around, i had gpart moving the ntfs, ubuntu, swap, and 8mb to the front of the drive so i could group the unpart space together. The last time i checked the progress of gpart, it was roughly 30gb into the first step of moving the ntfs partition (the power went out roughly 5-10 minutes later).
    Windows currently shows it as:
    |~118gb ntfs | 12gb ? | 12gb ? | 1.39 swap | 8mb | 4.5 unpart |

I did a quick search in the forums and pulled up this. Might give you a direction to run in.

    *SMACK* that Bunni's post.

I would recommend hitting up#ubuntu on efnet, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

resolved, was able to recover all the files using Active File recovery and create a new partition with the same drive letter as the last one. Everything seems to be working great now...

Thank you everyone for your help, its seems ironic these moments only happen when those backup you have are old or non existent for newer files

Buy a extra hard drive dedicated to pics, porn, and documents.
Then more than likely it will not happen again.

I do have two terabytes on this computer right now, i typically back up these files quite often as they are the project files to all my work. However Recently i had to set a half a terabyte as virtual ram and the rest was being used up by uncompressed raw data files. So when my weekly backup schedule ran it errored out (not enough hd space) and i wafted it off, as i said these things have a funny way of happening at the worst times.

What on earth could you ever possibly need a TB of virtual ram for?
