Mini Towers arnt beastly machines, and would need a Video Card to play any games at all but they are stupidly cheap starting at $269 WITH a 22 inch monitor. The "Performance Package" at $589 would be a decent jumping off point for a budget system.
Drop in a midrange video card like the 8800gt for $125 and for 700 dollars you have a pretty powerful gaming machine and a pretty monitor to boot.
(NOTE - I have no idea what the upgradability of these systems are, and would recommend you call and ask prior to buying and then finding out your video card wont fit)

The ultrasharp monitors are their higher end offerings. I just looked and the 2707WFP 27-inch is already on sale with 200 instant savings. You could get a 27inch for pretty much the 24 inch price with that extra 20% off.

Bunch of deals, probably all over the place, this week might be the week to pick up an upgrade or two.
