Thread: Need Soundcard, on the cheap

like the title says, the onboard sound card has slowly been dieing, possible due to a lightning strike a few months back. God knows if the whole m/board is going to go but I will cross that bridge when I get there due to a complete lack of funds to pre-preemptive strike that. Regardless

I need a sound card on the cheap. Decent, I don't run surround sound, just head phones or dual channel. Anyone have one they can part with or recommend one, I will be grateful.

btw, the only reason I am breaking down now is that my mic channel is completely fuXX0red as of tonight.

But I think you can find an audigy II dirt cheap and that will do everything you need.

I got my mic working again because I found an old external card from a friend. It had no drivers but apparently if I use it for my mic and my box for sound things work ok. Hooray!!!!
