Speaking strictly from a Battlefield series standpoint, the amount of data transferred across the network is actually very small. When you use BattleRecorder, it essentially records all the data sent back and forth from every connected player. A single round may run 90-100 megs max. I think the largest BattleRecorder demo was about 110 megs and that was for a full 45 minute round with 64 players. That equates to 0.04 megs per second. At that rate it'd take 1778 days to burn through 250 gigs of data.
This is not aimed at gamers. This is aimed at people who keep their bandwidth saturated 24/7 with Peer 2 Peer traffic. They tried other solutions to curb people's P2P traffic, but that got them in trouble with the FCC. Unless you've got torrents running all the time or heavily download online content (legal or otherwise), you should be fine.

Yall aren't looking at the big picture...
The big picture is within the next 5 years people will have streaming HD video online to their computers.. Com cast is taking the first step to limit your bandwidth like a cell phone. You are going to have to pay extra for more gigs of bandwidth.. That is just ludicrous... The average house hold uses about 20 - 25 gigs a month being on a computer 2 - 4 hours a day ranging from various things.. The extreme user uses double that or triple.. Now factor in 5 years down the road? Technology is constantly evolving. Comcast is taking the first steps to suck more money out of people.

Comcast has had a cap for a while now, I know for a fact. I was removed from their service for (allegedly) 425 GB/worth of transfer in one month last April. I am unable to have Comcast in my name for 12 months because of it. Utter horse-shit ...

Re: Everyone who has Comcast - It's official!
I was hearing about this today on the radio... and they talked to at least 3 different high ranking comcast officials in this areas division of comcast... not a single one seemed to have any knowledge of this. Two of them acted like it was speculation and not in any way official. 1 of them just flat out said they hadnt heard anything about this and that it had to be a made up rumor......
So now im... well.... confused and curious.
Theres almost always a "cap"... but its usually so high that less than 1% of customers even come near breaking it... this cap would jump that number to perhaps as high as 20% im guessing.
