09-09-08, 07:30 PM #1Vista problem?
So many of you know im getting really pissted off that i cant play on TTP's cod4 server due to my PB. I gave it a try on my XP computer and what do you know, I DONT GET KICKED! How ever when i go direct route to the router and turn off the firewall on the Vista machine, I get kicked. I've reinstalled the game, reinstalled PB, cleaned up my PB history and registry, etc... I think this is a Vista problem that PB has to fix. Give me your feedback on if you think it might be a Vista problem.

Re: Vista problem?
If the PC is "yours", I mean, if you are not a user on a parent's or company's machine, try enabling the hidden (true) administrator account, and running the game from that account.
There probably is a hidden feature in PB that needs elevated permission to complete it's task, and is being denied without any notification from Vista while in full screen mode (in game).
Click Start, open command prompt, with right click, "run as admin", click continue at UAC control pop-up, type (or copy) this string into cmd:
net user administrator /active:yes
There should not be any password assigned to (true) admin accnt, and I advise not setting one, because major malfunctions can occur if you forget p/w. Vista will lock you totally out of the system in that case.
Anyhootz, restart after closing cmd prompt window, and you should see the (true) admin accnt next to other user accnts @ log on window @ next boot. Try running game under (true) admin and see if that helps.
If you can, then we know it's some feature deep in game or PB that needs higher elevated status to run properly.
I don't recommend continuing to stay logged on as (true) admin, since there isn't any p/w assigned, and anyone starting your PC can remove your account even without p/w, and lock machine.
I would remove that accnt from showing once you figure out problem with PB...
To diasble account, log on as admin/user, and type this into (again, run as admin) cmd prompt to disable hidden (true) admin accnt: *(don't disable (true) admin account while still logged on as (true) admin, use user w/admin rights to disable)*
net user administrator /active:no
Hope you find your issue.

Re: Vista problem?
no seriously no problems here i have just recently updated the game to 1.7 as i haven't played for awhile, and was in the game a couple days ago without any pb crashes or anything. Have you tried running it as administrator or even running it in compatibilty mode of windows xp.
