CHIP fan fail or moving too slow

I get this error message whenever I load up my computer. It's been having problems for the past few days, going blank and freezing, but now it won't even load. What does "chip fan" refer to? GPU?

On your motherboard there are chips that comprose what is commonly called the "chipset." The chipset basically controls the busses on your system (and a few other things, but that neither here nor there).

Chipsets, like GPUs and CPUs generate heat, and some are cooled with heatsinks, others are colled with a fan and heatsink.

Open your case, look at your motherboard, is there another fan(s) besides your case, GPU and CPU fans? That would likely be your chipset fan. You can replace them fairly easily. I had a chipset fan fail once; the computer would blank out and lockup after running for a short time.

Ah, that's the one! I can visibly see it's not moving.

    Thanks
