    Busted my headset/mic...need something new

Ok so the title says it all. I am sure this is a boring topic but right now to me not so much. My mom (gotta lover her) said I could pick something out and she would buy it for me for part of my Christmas present. So....

I look and look and I need some help. I am a fan of over the ear type. I am not going to ask my mom to buy some Bose or anything like that I am thinking more like a $50 max maybe slightly higher.

Let me hear what ya think and maybe the best place to buy them. Thanks peeps.

It's all about the Plantronics headsets. They're the best quality I have used.

I've had great luck with these.I upgraded to some new 5.1 headphones, but keep these as a backup. They are 3 years old,and sound as good today as the day I bought them. Trusty, and easy on the wallet.

I have these guys and love 'em. There are three speakers in each side for a total of six speakers doing actual surround sound, and the imaging is great. You can actually tell where those footsteps are coming from. Also, the sound quality is nice. There response range starts a little high (40hz) so they are not as bassy as some might like, but they sound great and have the surround sound. Plugs into a 5.1 system via 3x3.5mm plugs.

Regardless of what you get use the TTP shopping link in the menu on the top left of the page to help those who help you. :9

Also, you might post this question in the hardware forum, might get more responses than you want. CHances are a mod will move it anyway...

I select headsets by durability. I swear I try to walk off with them on all the time. My headset falls on the floor all the time. I would avoid low and mid-range Logitech, lots of problems with the inline volumn and mic breaking.

My current headset cost me $15 off ebay.

    Cons:
    -Not Wireless
    -No inline MIC mute

Im a huge fan of the SENNHEISER PC151 that dex linked. Best headset ive ever owned and that includes sets costing 3 or 4 times the 151.
