24" vs 19"

Need some professional/game player opinion....currently play on a 19" monitor considering moving up to 24"...does it change the gameplay at all?...or simply bigger guns, planes, etc..just looking for opinions from folks that have traded up on monitor size and have been happy or sad about the move...THANKS

Higher resolutions, leading to crisper EVERYTHING. Field of view is increased which leads to better reaction times.....and the most important....you qualify yourself to run SLI/Crossfire (2 video cards) and reap the benefits....that shit doestn perform until your monitor hits the 22" mark. DO IT. Youll thank yourself in the long run.

I went from a 19" to a 23.5" widescreen. You get used to it in about 5 minutes. I don't regret it at all.

I don't know how to link to one of my previous posts in the PC hardware forum where you will generally find these types of questions (hint hint) but I recommend this when you go large widescreen:

WidescreenFixer is Punkbuster and EA approved. Just make sure you use the right one that was submitted to them for approval (v. 1.32 I think but check).

What it does is it adjusts your screen so the top and sides aren't cropped because BF2 doesn't have proper widescreen support built in. If you don't use it, you will see considerably less field of vision than someone playing on a 4:3 monitor.

Also paste this in your command line with whatever your monitor's native resolution is (mine is 1680x1050)

+widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

I actually forget to use WsF half the time, but anyway.

I think if there is a 1.5 patch, we probably won't need the program anymore because the 2142 patch had a widescreen support fix.

I went 22" last xmas. My only regret is that I didn't go 24.

Ditto. I have a 22" samsung that is great.. Look at 1680*1050 bf2 screenshots, there's a whole lot of action to see. But bigger would still be better ...

I've also been in search for a wide screen, I too have a 19" and just realized I have a whopping 20ms response time :P . I know there isn't much difference between 2 and 5 ms. But 20, lol. (didnt mean to hi-jack topic) I'm hoping Santa notices my epic fail and decides to put one in the bag
