    Fastest Solid State Drive!

Fusion IO drive. Its a SSD drive that plugs into pci-e x-4 bus instead of the SATA bus. This thing beat 8 hd's raided together, and has the fastest access time ever. Only problem... 3000 for the 80 gig model and about 14000 for the 320 gig. Granted they are marketed for business/ uber pc enthusiasts but they sure kick some ass.

I bet you could load Bf2 in 15 seconds tops if you had a fast PC..

Shit, you can do that with the SSD I have on my laptop. SSD's are definitely worth the investment, although more so if huge file transfers are a part of your everyday life.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

I have thought about buying an SSD and having a TB for large storage. I just cant justify the price tags on them right now.

They are still a bit of a splurge, but dear God, I don't feel bad about it.

Hopefully by the time I make my next build they will come down enough that my primary application/OS drive can be SSD. But this is awesome...the PCI-E solution. I wonder if they will get the bright idea to put some sort of SSD connectors right on the PCI-E bus for a new line of high speed SSDs...hmmm....

    Re: Fastest Solid State Drive!

I just picked up a 32GB Patriot v2 SSD from the Irving Frys for 89.00 w/ a $20.00 mail in rebate. If your looking to play with a SSD you can't beat this deal.

Has anyone tried placing 2 SSD's in RAID 0 for an OS/APP only drive?
