im looking for a good gaming laptop between 1000 and 1500
anyone got any ideas?

If you want to look at others a few things to keep in mind: Any of the 9800M level GPUs will play all games out there (but Crysis) at top spec on that laptops maximum resolution. A HDD speed of 7200 RPM or better is crucial for map loading; many laptops will have 5400RPM drives.

I have an Asus M51Sn which has a 9500M GS video card and I play BF2, BF2142, Civilization, and NWN2 all at full spec, and Oblivion at about 3/4. I am very satisfied with my Asus laptop.

ibuypower or cyber (sometin a rather) make good lappy's.

my buddy has one and its pretty kickass, think he paid $750 for it and it has 4 gigs of ram, vista, an 8 series invidia mobile card and a 17" screen. Pretty sweet little unit.
