and poop on the AS5 and vista premium edition. Make it home basic, and drop the thermal compound (the intel will come with a heatsink with compound already applied). The P5E3 can cycle the CPU fan speed to manage the temperature max and mins. Never see a problem keeping it below 40C at idle, and that's good enough. WHEN you decide to overclock (and you shouldn't) then you can show off with some arctic silver.
that saves you another $15 or $20 you could dump into getting a secondary HD (which I would). Or....a better/different case. Or.....a better gcard.
trust bigdog.

Ok.
I am sure we all have our own ideas on how his build should go but I think we can all agree on this setup.

Why pay the same amount for the old socket when its damn near the same price.
You go with this and you will be blazing not only with speed but you will have the freshest parts on the market.

true....go with a new socket can make sense...but the 775 isn't going anywhere, and I'd be surprised in a quad core 2.66 is going to beat the 2.8+ of the one I linked.
Also, manuals are downloadable from asus. as for accessories.....your case is going to come with all the screws you need. All that woudl be required would be the sata cables to connect your HD and CDROM(s). Cheap things you can add to your order. Everything else in the box is trash usually.
