New Computer time!....But I need help.

So I need a new computer, but I'm not sure where to start or where to look (other than newegg). I'm going to be starting from scratch and I want to build it myself. So, I pretty much need everything. I've got a budget of about $1500 to $1600. And it has to last another 4 years. just like this one did. So top of the line pretty much everything. I was wanting the 4870x2 but I'm not a tech guru so I have no idea how to compare cards. I would like to go with DDR3 but that may be way to expensive. So what can you guys, and gals cook up for me?! Thanks!

You dont need the 4870x2 unless you are gonna run 2560x1600 or maybe even 1920x1200.

bigtime overspending on the motherboard. Nearly 2X what you're spending on your processor.

switch those numbers, and see some real value. Never skimp on the g-card or CPU to have a showoff motherboard or RAM. the motherboard needs to have some basic requirements...but in my experience, anything over $200 is simply showing off.
