Thats a bummer, its pretty handy if you buy hardwrae regularly, I really like the 6months no interest on larger orders thing...

As have I. My credit has come a long way in the past several years, but the last time I tried applying for a Preferred Account, I was also denied.

that is exactly what I was hoping to take advantage of, I am looking to get a 8800GT and I was like :3 sigh I'd like that Samsung 26" ToC monitor too. but the monitor will have to wait..

They are no longer a serious full-service OEM as they don't sell current
generation cpus and their prices on CPUs are circa 2006.

He just uses Fry's now in the Chicagoland area for his immediate hardware needs.

MicroCenter might also be an aternative as well. They have a brick and morter store here in the Twin Cities,but I'm pretty sure the have others here in the upper midwest.They,of course do online sales as well.

Well when you live 120 miles away from San Jose(where Newegg's main warehouse is at), Newegg is the best option

Shipping is dirt cheap for me, and takes a couple days just for living in California

NewEgg is the bomb! Send them an email telling them you are unhappy with the time it took to ship the item. They are VERY good at making up for obvious bad service. As for Directron, they are down the street from where I work. The place is freaking huge and the local pickup is awesome. I don't like paying taxes so I only go there if I am in a jam and need something right away; otherwise, I shop newegg or tiger direct. I would buy online from microcenter since they price match, but we have one here in houston so they will tax you which means you save nothing.

Click Store Ratings at the top. I almost picked up a camcorder for the wife's birthday for a vendor with a .86 out of 10 rating. It was a buy.com vendor. I ended up just googling for a vendor that had a slightly higher price that had a 6+ rating. I almost fucked up the birthday!

Rofl. I live in an upstairs apartment, so i watched the guy. He comes half way up the stairs then throws s the rest of the way up :/.

Just another reason why i use FedEx.
