I noticed that xfire doesnt detect CoD4 or CoD W@W. It shows that my friends are playing an unknow game. When i manualy show to xfire where it is it tells me it see's it as a demo. HELP! This is going to drive me CRAZY!

I have Vista and havent gotten any recent updates on the vista software part.

Try uninstalling xfire, then reinstalling it. Mine has become bitched up before, and that has always fixed it. Your profile is stored on their server,so all you have to do is re-log in.

    Re: Xfire help

WEll i did and no luck. But what i did find is that my dad updated our dvd reader. And this DVD reader fucked ALL of our computer up. It changed some Parental Controls , but it also made the Restore Points vanish. Only one showed up and it didnt work. It also deleted everything in the recyling bin and moved some of my Icons around. Im still trying to fix it. Worst case is that we have to Re-Re-Install vista AGAIN.

get rid of it, Xfire is a resource hog just like any other IM program, sure it has pros and cons but is it really worth it?

    Re: Xfire help

8 megs of resources is not what I'd call a 'hog'.

    Re: Xfire help

So far i've gotten X-fires creator's attention REAL good. He doesnt know whats going on but he thinks he gave me a bad version from one of their "Download Xfire" servers. What do you think? I dont know what could possibly be going one but this is what i told him about the computer for him to find the problem better:

    Xfire Copyright (C) 2008
    Version 1.104 Build 35798
    Feb 10 2009 at 15:56:46
    XFIRE_LANG_US Build 35798
    XFIRE_GAMES.INI Version 35790
    XFIRE_TOUCAN Build 35798
    DEV_GAMES.INI Not loaded
    Xfire Codec Installed

I have reinstalled xfire on the admin account with out any luck. I have restarted the computer thinking that there was a bug in the computer and xfire needed the computer to restart.

We do have antivirus but we manualy allowed it to let xfire do its thing. We have not recently updated the antivirus or gotten a new version.

    Let me know!
    Anything fishy?
