    Re: new cpu and stuff

You posted a really open-ended question. Our answers would probably be more helpful if you answered the following:

Do you want Intel or AMD?
Do you have existing DDR2/DDR3 RAM that you want to reuse?
What is the rating and type of your existing power supply? How many pins on the main connector (20+4)?
Do you want to be an "uber" overclocker or do you just want to leave it at stock?
Does your case have adequate venting?
How much do you want to spend?

    Re: new cpu and stuff

sorry had to type that fast, was on the go.
well i have always used AMD but i just want something that is fast and not stupid expensive.
I have ddr2 ram and could save to reuse it, i also was wanting quad core, my power supply is 750, 20+4.
My case I believe has good ventilation, has 2 2000X30mm fans and 1 120x25 fan... if not has room for 2 more fans.
I have no clue about pricing... that is the main reason i am asking for help because i can find myself something easy... just I am probably gonna pay to much for it. so maybe some examples.

Go with the AMD 9950 Black. It's cheap and it's the top end of last generation (AM2), $150.

But before I go on... what is your budget for the mobo and CPU?

If your looking for a slightly cheaper CPU, go with the AMD X2 6000+, $100

For a mobo, the Asus M3 series boards are suppose to be really good. Here is a pretty well rated one for $80

And whatever you do... DO NOT get the Asus M2N32-SLi Deluxe! They are known for having major issues.

Should have RMA's the old wife, they would have sent you a new one free.

As for Mury's M2Ns, RMA those bad boys and get new ones. I did that and got one back that works fine.

They ran ok for nearly 2 years. They just ate ram though it took awhile to determine that. Sticks would die, we would RMA the ram, finally that didnt work anymore - I upgraded to AM3 boards
