Need Instructions for a complete Reformat Of harddrive + OS Reinstall

So i have a freind Who Has a brand new computer, but cant connect to the internet with it becasue of a Trojan that her mother accidentally got. I told her she could Format her harddrive, and Re install the OS. I said i could get her instructions on how to do that. Thats where you guys come in.

Can some one Give me Step-by-step instructions on how to Completely format her harddrive, and Reinstall the OS?

Assuming she bought a Dell or Gateway or HP or Compaq or Acer or __________ it likely came with an OS Setup Disk - pop that in, reboot - and follow the instructions.

Make sure you actually format it though, they make it easy to skip that step and just install windows on top of the old installation.

1. Remove hard drive
2. Place it on a brick.
3. Shoot with assault rifle. If you don't have one, you're fucked.
4. Buy shiny new hard drive.
5. Install OS and drivers if necessary.

just get the os cs that came with the pc. Put it in the dvd drive and restart the pc. when the pc restarts it should ask you if you want to boot from cd, say yes. from there on follow the steps. just make sure you format C, that will it will completely remove any bad stuff thats on the drive. after that you should be good togo.
