and if it was me...I'd probably go with an intel and DDR3 RAM. No sense in sticking with the past.

Not really no. The Phenom II OC's better than the first Phenom so if that is your thing you could push the 3.0 (940) beyond 3.2 pretty easily)

The 940 is a socket-AM2 version. The 955 is a socket-AM3. AM3 = more future proof.

Looks good but I would recommend upgrading the vid card to the GTX 275.

Is there much of a huge difference in those two cards?


right now with my machine I get about 4000 on benchmark......I would be extremely content with a machine that scores 15000+.
