Yea all the review/benchmark websites state that these two pieces of hardware are the best there is for AMD at the moment.

Take a look at that. AMD trails the core i7 rigs by maybe 5-10 frames. Damn seems intel has some work to do :9

looking at graphic frame rates on a CPU comparison...come on.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/d...e-GPU,816.html = GPU 3dMark score on different processors....no differences in the top 20 processors on the list, AMD or Intel. +/- 100 points on a 10,000 point score means nothing. Farting while the bench is running might make a swing that big. Seriously.

that's the real stuff. AMD loses. Intel wins. And I'm an AMD guy myself...but not if it came down to building a new box.

I would stray away from lower clock quad cores, and focus on the big clock dual cores.
