    DC'ing

OK, im being disconnected from WOW in big cities or large dungeons with many people. My internet connection is not the issue i think, i tested it and it is getting 2.555Mbps down and 438.11Kbps up. The server is east coast and the latency fluctuates from 60 -200ms. i ruled out overheating by getting new fans and cooling devices. my gear is not bad, 8600GTS, 4G DDR2 1066bus, E6850 3GHz. it never happens just browsing the internet or playing the game outside of those very taxing circumstances. I also noticed this starting when i upgraded to vista, which i have since upgraded to Windows 7. I have tried disabling the windows firewall, as well as disabling norton. again this hasnt helped. My best guess is the vid card or processor cant handle it, or the internet. It also hasnt seemed to help to turn down my video settings all the way. Help.

Your vid card could use an upgrade and your 2.55MB down is a little low..... not sure if that is the main cause but very well could be. Has this always happened?

If you're getting disconnected, it has nothing to do with video. Now if your game was freezing/locking up/crashing... then you would have over heating issues or video issues or other hardware.

I would make sure you have all the right/updated drivers installed.

What is your connection, i.e. onboard NIC, PCI NIC(Network Interface Card)? How is your network settup?
