    1000 dollar budget

Well kinda anyway, plus or minus another 125 bucks tops

So basically Im trying to setup my last build before I head to basic, its going to be for my dad but Im not sure how to finish it up. I want to set up RAID0 and water cooling in it for sure. Iv heard that the Black Caviar WDs do a great job for RAID but Im not sure where to go for a case or kit for my water cooling solution and if there may be a cheaper HD solution.

Secondly, the PC will have these parts:

    EVGA P55 FTW

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=E145-2074

    Intel Core i5 750 2.66 ghz

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...3&sku=I69-0750

    and....

    Ultra X4 850watt

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=U12-40503

The total of these parts is 630.02 and with the two aforementioned western digital 640gb harddrives it goes up to 759.95, leaving me with at the least 365 bucks to buy memory, a video card and a case to put it all in along with a new monitor. Am I boned? It has to be a performance PC and I was hoping to get at least a video card with around 1gb of memory and at least 4gb of ram. Along with that I was looking at a 24" monitor. Not sure what to do, or if I should ditch the water cooling to allow more felixibility for everything else.

Do you need an 850w PSU? Kids these days... always seem to buy too much power and not use it.

Write down a list of what you want, and mark off what you cant get (goes over your budget) and downgrade from there... like a list of pro's and con's when decided one thing or the other.

$630 for a mobo/CPU/PSU combo for 1156 platform is insane. You could do it for $380 easy.

    $200 for the CPU.
$130 for the mobo (this is the main selling point of LGA 1156... cheap mobos... there are many good ones in the $110-$150 range)
$50 PSU (see my post from a few days ago)

    I just saved you $250.

Hell, look at this I posted the other day. It's everything you want plus RAM and HDD and CPU cooler and case for LESS:

This is kind of an interesting combo deal:

The 850watt PSU was for the 2 hard drives, the graphics card I had planned to use and to power a water cooling system along with overclocking the whole setup, ram, processor and graphics card. The whole intent of this setup is that it last long.

Also veo your setup is missing a graphics card too :P

Looks like a decent setup, but I"m not sure why you're paying $200 for a PSU that's more than you need, from a brand I've never heard of...

Honestly no offense but if youve never heard of Ultra or at least the X3 and X4 modular PSUs you should just stop talking O.o

850W is way more than you need Hung. Do you plan on adding extra power hogs later or something? Scale it back a bit and save some money. Ultra has a 750W that should still give you room to OC.
