Re: Video card advice
I have the EVGA version of this card:

GTX 260. I paid around $400 for it a year or so ago and now it's down to $179. Great card, takes everything I throw at it with ease.

I have one similar to this... runs everything I own on high great. I would buy EVGA products if I had the choice though.

Re: Video card advice
I have the EVGA 8800GT and I've been thinking about upgrading as well. Hmmm...
I started out as a ATI guy and went with that for a long time, then I switched to Nvidia when I got this card... Go back to ATI or stay with Nvidia?, I mean hell.. they both out compete eachother every year.
So if I go with one, the other will be ahead of the curve a month or two later. Hmm... Choices.

Well I am wanting to get a new video card as well. My 8800 GTS recently died on me and am using a Radeon X1800 my brother wasn't using. I'm no expert on ATI, but I'm pretty sure that is still a downgrade (still it was free though so I can't complain).
But I just saw this on Newegg and was thinking about getting it.

Not a bad card from the looks of it for $50. Would it be worth the investment though or should I consider going for a slightly more expensive card to get the performance I want?
Nevermind. I completely missed the specs. Got my hopes up for nothing.

5850.

If you can find one. 280ish and more power than youll know what to do with.
This time around from what I have read ATi is going to have nvidia handily beaten with the 58xx series of cards for at least the next 6 months. I would go with ATI right now,
But ya the 260 is one heck of a good card and can likely be had for under 150 if you keep your eye out.

Pardon my hastiness. Just looked at the specs more closely.
That's what I get for hoping for a cheap, quick fix. Newer models is not always better...
Might just be sticking with the 1800 for now then as I really can't afford too much at the moment due to recent car issues.
