Thread: G-card died?

I think it bit the dust. I turned on my monitor, and the image came on, got darker, then black screen. The monitor power light is still on, and if I turn the monitor off then back on the Acer logo comes on then the screen goes black. I will see if I can get it working, but would appreciate any advice.

take gcard out, blow all the dust off it, see if sticking it back in there helps

Tried that, along with blowing out all the fans, and leaving it off for a while to cool down. No luck.

Have you tried hooking it up to a different monitor? Just to rule that out...

Or possibly a different feed from your psu...

It probably is your card,but it's worth a shot just to rule out any other possibilities.

try taking out the GCard and using Onboard video (sometimes you have to enable it in BIOS) to further rule out the GCard.

let me know if you need a card.

It is an evga 8800, so maybe warranty will cover it.

how old is it?

Couple years I think.
