    Not PC related - TV-Dynex

I bought a new flat panel TV to go into my bedroom. This is the room where we watch the local news and the Tonight Show. It's a 22" Dynex model #DX-LDVD22-10A. It's a DVD combo TV. Anyhow, the main tv in the living room is hooked up with the Time Warner box via HDMI cable. This bedroom tv has the coaxial cable hooked up straight to the tv itself.

My question is related to the sound quality. When I go to NBC's channel, I have more than one option; HD or the normal. On the normal channel the audio settings are set to stereo, on the HD channel the stereo setting isn't available. Either way on either channel the sound quality sounds very hollow, it almost doesn't sound loud enough. On the custom audio setting I have an equalizer that I can play with but that doesn't seem to improve it.

I'm trying to figure out if it's a TV problem ie. the brand just sucks, or if maybe the fact that I have the coaxial cable hooked straight into the tv is causing an HD signal translation problem or whatnot. Although,I can't imagine it being the latter if the problem exists on the non HD channel. What do yall think?

So you have the cable box hooked up to the TV via coax or just the coax straight from the wall into the TV?

I'd wager the sound issue has something to do with the quality of the tuner in the TV itself. I bet if you used a cable box, it'd sound fine over HDMI.
