Haha Viktor, I had that same review in mind but was too lazy to find the link.

And I was too lazy to read it all!

What that breaks down to is that it would be like trying to put a big block engine (your Video card) in a Toyota corolla. You would probably have a lot of power but your carburetor would be sucking the gas through a straw. If that makes sense.
Don't get me wrong the board you chose is a nice board with a lot of nice features, I just didn't like the x4 Lanes in crossfire.

I would have to say that this board is pretty nice for the price:
It also received the gold editors choice award.

As always before I buy a MOBO I will look at all the reviews that I can from Newegg and other sites. You will need to keep a open mind when looking at them. Their are a lot of people that will not understand how to set up or build a system and right out of the gate will bash any little thing they don't understand.

Another thing I will do is go to the manufactures website and look at the Forums for the MOBO you are looking at. You can see the issues or non issues that other people are having with that board. Remember to keep an open mind.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll see what I can find out.

So far the reviews are sayng this board is top of the line. I did find a couple that had different problems such as heating issues (recommend a CPU fan) or had a BIOS issue (bricked one board). I'll take these with a little wariness. Those with problems never seemed to have the same problem so I will take that as board specific problems and not the over product. Please let me know how those of you with more experience would rate it. So far it looks like a winner to me.

    Re: Looking at Desktops

I think it is a nice board Loki.
Always remember their is always going to be something better around the horizon. That was the way I used to think after my first system but then I realized that this is probably not going to be the last system that I will ever build. So try not to think of it as a super long term thing, Build it if someone wants to buy it from you sell it and build another. That is the only way I have piece of mind with computers. With technology always advancing you will always want something new I still jones when I walk in to Microcenter to this day.
The PC I have right now so far has been the one that has lasted me the longest, though I am always tweaking it or adding something else here or there.
I guess it is a hobby now.

Yeh, I make my PC's last 2-4 years, but I don't think I've ever bought a CPU without buying new mobo and RAM too. In other words, I've never re-used a CPU socket.

    Re: Looking at Desktops

Ok, so far this is what it's looking like. I am still looking around at cases in hopes of finding a $50-70 case that fits my needs. For me Antec has the top selling point with the dust filters. I may drop it down to the Antec 300. I'm not too sure on the PSU being at the base. The one I have selected has the intake fan on it's under side which I would think would be an issue, thoughts? Also, should I consider a sound card? The only ones I've had experience with in the past were Creative Sound Cards. I've read mixed reviews saying I should have it/you can manage with the onboard sound. I also need to look at monitors...

The Antec 300/900/1200 all have the PSU at the base and the fan is not on the underside. The power supply is placed in upside down.
