    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright guys, I wouldn't normally be this hysterical, but I'm seriously panicing like a schoool girl that just missed her period after a one night stand! Here's the deal. Last night my computer was running fine, better than fine actually, and with no problems. I shut it down for the night, but today when I turned it on nothing happens. It turns on, but that's all it does. It doesn't go to the boot screen or anything. However, one time I hit the reset button and the screen came up that says push TAB to go to BIOS, but won't go farther than that. A few things that I see is the two buttons at the bottom of the motherboard, the power and reset ones, the power one is red. Also, the light that shows that it's trying to post flashes yellow and that's it. I've exhausted every other option and I am out of ideas. I have to do clinical paperwork tonight and my computer has EVERYTHING I need on it. I need some help pronto guys cause I'm in a bad way at the worst possible time!! Any suggestions are helpful.

Mine has done this several times. Most of the time you power it down unplug it for a minute and it starts up again but it takes a little long for it to actually start up. Then there were the 2 times it didn't fix it and i hit it then it started right up.

Could well be the power supply. But, you should start by unplugging the PC, opening the case, and grounding yourself by touching the metal chassis or the PSU. Then, check all connections from the PSU to the motherboard, fans (especially the CPU cooling fan), etc. Remove and re-seat the RAM modules. Be sure to clean out all the dust bunnies while the case is open. Then try to power it on. If you're real, real lucky, it's just a loose connection or a loose RAM module.

    Good luck.

Alright guys, I, well my Uncle figured it out. It was my memory....i know, last damn i would have thought of too. Apparently one of my memory sticks has gone six feet under and it was freezing everything up when it was trying to boot up. Thank GOD, if i would have been unable to do my paperwork i would have been up shit creek with no paddles and a hole in my boat. Thanks a lot for the suggestions though guys. Always good to know i can count on yall :9

Depends on your PC; be sure you can actually use 8 GB (that is, you have a 64 bit OS) because more is not always better.

I've had good and bad luck with Corsair, and the last brand I tried (G-Skill) has worked flawlessly. You can get DOA RAM from any manufacturer, so be sure the warranty and customer service are good (check the manufacturer's forums). Also, be sure to order from Newegg via TTP shopping.

RAM has gone up considerably in the past year, so 8 GB will probably not be cheap.
