LOL honestly thats how I feel about his whole setup.

Pote I think you need to go back to the drawing board unless you are a hardcore nvidia/evga fan.

Hey now... SLI ham sammiches are pretty kick ass.

But I'd go with 5770's in crossfire if I wanted to stay in the same price ballpark and get more bang for buck.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

yes, the 260s were, and to a large extent still are great cards. But looking over that rig, Pot is buying pretty tip top of the line, so why last years non-current technology?

The same money buys one a 5850, or 2 5770s. Either of which is more powerful than 2 ham sandwiches AND you get Direct X 11 so your sandwiches are totally garnished with tessellation.

I have no problems with the ATI products. In fact, as it stands right now, ATI has better capabilities across the board, even with the nVidia 480 GTX!! The only reason I am going for the dual 260s instead of a 5870 is because nVidia it seems, is the only one to support 3D technology. In my opinion, that is where the future is, both for movies as well as games.

Perhaps it might be worth it to get the 5850, or even 5870 now, and wait until nVidia gets their shit together to challenge ATI on the cost, performance and capabilities front.

3D gaming won't be mainstream (and support is likely to be spotty) for the next couple years. You don't hear a lot of titles promising 3D graphics. Invest in the best now, and get a new video card if/when 3D every becomes mainstream. AMD/ATI aren't ignoring 3D but their vision is that it's still somewhat off in the future.

This is what happens when you over think/over analyze.

WileEcyte pretty much summed it up.

I'd still go for the 2GB over the 1GB model.
