Thread: Laptop going crazy

Okay so within the past few weeks I've been having some really weird problems with my laptop. I don't know if it's hardware, software or what.

Recently my laptop doesn't always sleep when I close the lid so it just keeps running and by the time I take it out of the backpack I either burn my hands or the battery is already dead. When this happens it doesn't wake up either, so I have to force shut down. I've tried resetting my SMC and a few other work arounds. I also reinstalled OSX (10.6.3) about 2 months ago, so I don't know if that would be a problem either. It's also been having some weird errors when I open up a new tab in safari, it will take like 30 seconds where the whole computer is locked up... and sometimes the tab looks retarded. Any suggestions? (This is an approx 2 year MacBook Pro, the $2500 one) Oh and below is what the tab sometimes looks like, and other times it's black and just weird. (This one was the strangest yet).

No, I haven't installed anything new in forever. The only programs that I usually leave open when I put it to sleep are Safari, Mail, and sometimes Excel or Word and I've been doing that for a while.

I don't know crap about Macs,but have you tried pulling the battery out,and just letting it sit for a while? Maybe there is some kind of internal glitch that when de-powered will resolve itself? I wish I could help.

Yeah, I reset the SMC by taking out the battery and holding down the power button, and it didn't do anything . Thanks for trying though!
