    I already have a home server running on a hyper-v VM. Perhaps this is worth a try, but I dont know what more I could want in a home server. It already streams media and backs up all my workstations.

    Vail adds official Windows 7 support and has support for Home Groups.

    Right now I have my streaming rig running Win7 so I thought I'd juice it up a bit.. but I'm also tempted to play with some sort of linux box, so I might try out Vail after finals are over.

    meh, WHS already does just fine backing up and restoring windows 7 boxes. I think I will wait until the final version hits Technet
