Game modding??
Ok so recently with the Rockstar deals steam has had i picked up GTA vice and GTA san Andreas, Tonight i was talking to a buddy who was telling me about how i can mod San andreas out and get some modern vechicles to drive in the game. This intrigued my interest and after doing a bit of searching i found what i was looking for. Each one says to use Img tool 2.0, So i did, the Readmes were confusing for me ot read cause of the fact that the english was badly written in them and i couldnt find the files they were looking for cept the one. It told me to open GTA3.img and lets say i was going to add this one car. Its named Bobcat.txd and bobcat.diff, the instructions say to find the names before adding them and then delete them, Too bad when searching for them nothing came up, so i just added both files and closed the program, Now i cant start GTA it keeps failing and the IMgtool wont delete the files i added, Whenever i start up the Imgtool i get an error that says Failed to set data for " and thats it. but then it loads up and opens, when i go to delete things i get an error that says I/O error 32. then nothing. it doesnt delete the files. Any help plz from any modders? im new to modding games like this, so i tried it on my own and seeing as i failed i decided to come here. I did backup my game before i tried anything, so if anyone could help me id greatly appreciate it.

Re: Game modding??
Sorry, if it was Farcry or Crysis I would probably be able to help you. I am guessing that you grabbed the wrong file, but I have never played San Andres yet alone modded it.
I am glad I saw that sale though and got vice city for $2.50 as my old disks got screwed up.

Re: Game modding??
Ok so after spending 10 min reading throught to broken english of the creators i figured out how to code the mods into the specific files. I followed everything down to the T, but when i try to start the game up it wont. anyone have any ideas as to why it wont start up now?

Re: Game modding??
Alright well w.e No matter what i do i cant get seem to mod it properly, everytime i add a mod in and change the data files and cfg files and properly add the mods in through the IMG tool the game just wont load up. Just out of curiosity tho, when im done adding the files through the img tool i have to Rebuild the archive correct? i tried that several times and it still gave me the same problems with the game not loading. Instead of deleting and readding files i just replaced them and it still wont load. So idk but im annoyed this is now the 5th time im reinstalling the game and ima thinking im just gonna give it a break or not do it at all. Unless someone can shed some light. Ive been searching on google all day and i havent come across anything helpful, i even used ur link gonzo and it wasnt very helpful. But i appreciate it. right now im just kinda pissed that its not working.
