I dont see what the big deal is.
Macs have had games for a while now.
Here is a list:

Breakout
Arkanoid
Pac-Man
Ms. Pack-Man
Super-Breakout

Its a good thing they are pimping Portal so much for this. I don't think the average Mac user can handle the violence that comes with most Source based games.

The free portal release I think is a draw to Mac users to try out steam and the games they have for mac via steam.

I wonder if it will be worth it. Games in the past that have tried to get mac users gaming have not done so well (Everquest 1, etc).

Guess we will see. In the meantime I am going to continue to use my windows based computer until they release Steam for Linux.
