    Comcast Issues...again

    Here's whats been going on:

This morning I woke up to no internet connection so I tried the standard resetting the modem. Didn't work. So then I called Comcast up and they said they were getting a connection on their end, so it had to be the modem. I went in and exchanged that out for a new one. When I went to install the modem onto my router I was getting the same issue(modem said ready, router had flashing internet connection light, still no internet). So then I reset the internet connection via "release/renew" from my router settings. Still showing up blank. I decided then to see if it would work directly connected to my computer rather than through the router. Huge surprise when I brought up my internet browser. Apparently I had to "activate" my connection before i could access any other websites. So I went through that process and was able to access the internet. When I switched it back to my router, same problem as before.

What I think is happening is that the modem is trying to "activate" when its connected through my router, but I have no way of doing that THROUGH the router. Anyone have any suggestions?

Up until this point I have failed at convincing my stepdad to switch to Uverse...Hopefully this issue will be the "straw that breaks" his resistance to switching.

    Re: Comcast Issues...again

Insight used to have that type of thing when they first came out with internet, but it's been years since you've had to do that... I think.

Call comcast and ask if they have to register your modem's mac address on their network before you can use it. I suppose it's possible...

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.
