Just to be sure.. what firewall you got? (I too often see these improperly disabled)

Just to be sure.. what firewall you got? (I too often see these improperly disabled)

The only one I'm aware if is windows firewall, which I disable through the control panel. I've never had problems with firewalls with ANYTHING I've done in like the past year or so.

Another good suggestion, but still a no go.

A lot of these methods are working for people on other forums...just not me apparently

There's also been a lot of talk about the problem possibly being Windows Service Pack 3....but I don't recall having any windows updates installed recently.

lobby, this has happened to me. It started a few weeks ago randomly and hasn't worked since, so I have been back to using firefox since then...

Hmm I have SP3 with no issues. Was thinking a possible update to the underlying framework could be causing the issue.

To truly determine a problem with it reaching out to the network.. versus some other problem- you could try loading a locally saved HTML file. For instance go to www.google.com in internet explorer. File->Save As ... save it as say google.html. goto that file and open it with chrome see what happens.

Does the same thing as if I'm loading a webpage....just keeps saying "loading"

Well we tried a bunch of various things on Steam to no avail.
For anyone who might have a better idea here is the log we polled for one session. Sorry Rock, sometimes things are just broken IMO.
