Depends entirely on the manufacturer and there willingness to support new processors. For example the Phenom II x6 may require a bios update to run on boards made before its release. So for the big OEMs like asus this should not be a problem.

I dont think you guys get what im trying to ask. I already selected the AM3 socket for the mobo. If you been on newegg's site, on the left it also has "CPU Type" which has varying series of the AMD family. Does it matter if i don't chose one of those if i already have the socket selected?
