Do I need to reformat?

I just ordered a new mobo and i was wondering, when i change everything and get it all hooked up, will my OS boot up fine? or will i need to format the hd and reinstall the OS

When replacing motherboards, especially if you're changing chipsets, it's always to your benefit to reload. Plug-n-Pray MAY work fine for you, but eventually gremlins will sneak in and you'll have unexplained crashes and hangs.

Yes, you will need to format. As Wylie said, it may work... but driver conflicts are almost guaranteed.

Reformat. I have never seen any OS especially windows to be like.

Oh new motherboard....check....
new memory....check.....
new hard drive & graphics card....very nice....

another thing i was wondering was, i have 4 gb 800mhz and 4gb 667mhz is it possible to use all of them on the same mobo? it can handle 1066 (overclocked) and i plan to get it in a couple of wks but can i use that for now?

You don't need more than 4GB. I would use the 4GB of DDR2 800MHz and overclock it a bit. If you put in the 667, then all of your memory will be clocked at 667MHz. The stagecoach can only go as fast as the slowest horse.
