    because it already runs hot, and the cards would be sitting right on top of each other and the fan would not be able to pull air onto the card in my top slot

    Keep in mind that these are 5770's. Heat generally isn't an issue on these mainstream types of cards even when they are sitting that close together. That would have been factored in by the ATI engineers when they designed crossfire.

    Now if you were to try a max overclock, that might be a different issue all together. As long as you have good ventilation in your case, it shouldn't be a problem.

    45 on idle, and around 60 sometimes close to 70 whenever im in game or watching certain videos
