Thread: Alternative to grounding bracelet?

Is there an alternative to a grounding bracelet? I'll be taking about a comp, thats pretty old so doesn't have a power switch on the back so that could be a problem. But also is static electricity that big of deal?

ESD is a big deal, but if you ground yourself to the case, either by touching the case while handling components or by using a strap, you won't break anything.
Back when I used to work at a warranty repair place, we never used straps, we just made sure we always were touching the case. It is the same thing.
In your situation, you say that it does not have a power switch on the PSU? Is it AT or ATX?
