Unless there are other reasons you want this rig now, I agree that you should just save up and buy it rather than put it all on credit.

    Nice - TPG helping FTW

And Dig - that setup looked pretty good. And most likely would last the 3 years that you were wondering. As always, in 3 years the video card might be the first thing that you take a look at from an upgrade standpoint.

And Soviet and White are right - sound card over onboard if you really want a decent sound experience.

Since I bought my G35 headset (USB) I rarely use my sound card, but I do have a set of speakers hooked up to the sound card now so I can listen to music/podcasts while I work.

Well I recieved an email a few minutes ago that mt order was on hold because my card was declined, likely I fat fingerd my mailing address or something or the cvc number on the back of the card, everytime i order something one of those gets me. Anyway I'll check back after i get off of work tomorrow and see if peeps give me a like or dislike. I would also appreciate a suggestion or two on headphones, the trittions I currently have a very clear directional sound but the over all sound quality for listening to music or when playing games where hearing foot steps is unimportant and immersion is the aim, they are sub par by a wide margin.

Go with a modular power supply. This should help you with cable management. I highly recommend Cooler Master power supplies. I have had 3 over them over the past 5 years and never had a problem. I am currently using the Cooler Master Silent Pro 1000w in my gaming rig and I am very happy.

    Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Silent Pro RSA00-AMBAJ3-US 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

You might want to change the graphics card. The stock fan on the EVGA card can get really lound when you have the fan cranked up. I mean, really loud. Almost like having a hair dryer inside your PC blowing out the back.

You might want to consider this Gigabyte card as it has a "Windforce" cooler on it that people are really liking. The pros are that it cools better than the reference cooler and is much quieter. The con is that it doesn't exhaust the heat out of the back of your case like the reference cooler.

    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N570OC-13I GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

The MSI Twin Frozr II OC is another option that will get you away from the stock fan.

Newegg.com - MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr II OC GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Other than that, your system build looks very promising. The Hyper 212+ is a great cooler for the money. You should be able to get a decent overclock with it for sure. You will just want to buy another 120mm fan as it only comes with one. I recommend buying 2 high flow fans and just get rid of the stock fan from Cooler Master.

I really like the idea of modular cables, what I don't like is that they tend to make the cables for modular PSU's shorter then normal. A number of the reviewers say as much. I have a full size tower, coolermaster cosmos 1000 if my memory serves, so space to tuck my cables away is not an issue.

On the GC I'll take the advice and go with the gigabyte card, like I said previously I have a full tower with plenty of case exhaust so I don't see the con as being to important for me.

    Thanks for the advice.

Try this fan...Same as the 212 but has an extra fan for a push/pull system. I have it running my i7 920 and it works wonders... I have tried everythign up to $100 coolers and for the money this thing rocks and is on par with much more expensive coolers.

    Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Intel Core i7 compatible

I also think that a good 6950 would be on par with that 570 and save you $100...

    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R695D5-2GD-B Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

I have a Cooler Master Cosmos S (same size as your case) and the modular cables from the Cooler Master modular PSUs have been more than long enough. I guess as long as you can hide the unused cables, you should be okay.

Re: Building a new comp what do you think?

To continue the hijacking of Mr Naerok's thread:

I know I should know this seeing as I'm tech savy enough to put a system together from the ground up BUT I have always started a new system with a fresh install of windows. I do not want to do that this time, I want to go right too the install that is on my hard drives currently, just incase you did not see the list that I purchased the only thing I did not replace is the hard drives. I know it can be done, but what concerns should I have if any in doing so.
