Boot help...
So windows was not liking something in my startup and it kept hanging up trying to load something when I got to my windows 7 desktop.
Sometimes only my taskbar would load, othertimes my desktop widget wouldn't show up. Either way if I tried to open anything it would just sit and load, eventually I would get a "Windows stopped running/responding, End Task?" or something like that. It just seemed to close explorer.exe. Task manger never wanted to come up either so I couldn't do anything once explorer was closed.
So I turned everything off in msconfig so nothing would autostart. Now when I turn a few specific things back on they aren't autostarting anymore.
1- Any easy way to pinpoint what program is making windows hang up?
2- Why are programs that autoran fine before I deselected not running when I reselect them. I'm currently manually running my touchpad and shortcut button applications every time I restart my laptop.Last edited by insanegammer109; 03-19-11 at 02:31 AM.

Back up the files from that drive and do a reinstall. Pain in the ass, I know, but when it comes to boot problems, you could be troubleshooting for hours/days and come to the same result... reformatting.
Honestly, if you can't get into safe mode or run scans to determine if it is malware, you are better off starting from scratch.

Re: Boot help...
I don't know If I have ever been able to boot in safe-mode, Toshiba might have done something. It likes to restart when loading safemode.
It is running perfectly fine now I just can't get Toshiba utilities to auto-start even when they are selected to do so.
