    isn't that the one that Kanati has (had?) and rooted? I think I recall him writing about that one and saying that other than Viewsonic's abysmal UI that the hardware was fantastic.

    Yeah. The hardware is top notch. nVidia Tegra 2 platform (what's in the Motorola Xoom). Easy enough to root and replace with a nice stock Android Honeycomb ROM.

    The one HUGE knock against Android as a tablet platform is there is no hardware accelerated video playback yet. So playing back 1080p or even 720p video can be choppy.

    One bad issue with the gtab is that the screen is HORRIBLE. View angle is very very shallow. But the rest of the hardware is great.

    Some of the latest cyanogen mod nightlies (v7) are adding hardware support, but it's not complete yet so... It's coming. Slowly but surely.
