We've had quite a crew of teamplayers folding over the three years since HeavyG started the team, but interest has waned and we're down to two diehard folders (JDAW and yours truly). We'd love to have some help. If you have a decent gaming PC that sits idle much of the time, put it to good use folding!

I'm using my backup now since my main is under construction, I'll hop on board with my backup gaming pc once my main is finished

Are we talking gaming as in GPU or CPU power? I have 3 computers with nice CPUs, but 2 of them have older GPUs (an AMD 6850 and 5770). I use them to run multiple EQ2 accounts which EQ2 isn't a GPU intensive game.

Both work...GPU is considerably better, but CPU's do some folding, and your GPU's will still fold...just not as fast as newer ones.

To others who may be contemplating joining us, let me say that part of the reason I'm folding is personal. Huntington's Disease runs in my family, and the research into protein folding holds promise for finding treatments or a cure for diseases such as Huntington's, Alzheimer's, and others. It's fun to fold and watch your points add up, and the team setup appeals to our competitive spirit, but ultimately this is about the science. I hope that, in some small way, I may be contributing to the understanding and eventual treatment of such devastating diseases.

Fyi, I am JDAW. I only have my work box crunching right now, my home boxes heat up my office too much and run my electric bill. Come winter I will fire the other 3 back up.
