Thread: Water Cooling.

I wanna buy a water cooler probely a h70 or h50. My question is do i have to put water in it or does it come with and do i want to use water or some product that they sell that is supposed to work better.

It comes with water I believe. No maintenance to.

Closed water coolers are different from actual self build custom LC kits. The H50 and H70 are OK but overpriced. I recommend just getting air-cooling. It'll run quieter (as opposed to the H70's and H50's 40+ dBA output.

They also state the H70 gets up to 49 dBA at one point (MAX)

As for performance, only equivelent to an air cooler that is about $40 cheaper. And almost quieter.

The H50 will perform less than the H70 obviously but is only a tiny bit quieter, obviously the Thor's Hammer beats it.
As for the H50/H70, they use closed loops so that the coolant, rad, waterblock etc. all in one. So it's not to say there is no management, there is no management with the coolant, but you have to clean out the dust from the rads just the same as air coolers. Not only that, you'd have the chance that the loop will leak the coolant out, there have been several cases, and although Corsair did replace the cooler, some other parts were severely damaged because of the coolant.

You should wait for this cooler, it'll retail at 70$ but performs quiet and solid. The NZXT Havik 140

Yes the "NZXT Havik 140" is the KING! I went with the "Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B" paired with a "Noctua NF-S12B"(120mm fan/65 CFM/18.1 decibels) for a "MILD" overclock.

Corsair's lineup of water cooling kits is growing. This year they released the H60, as well as the recent announcement of the H80 and H100 series coolers. I had the H70, and it did a great job, but not much better than my air cooler. The pros are that it can be very quiet if you replace the stock Corsair fans, and it looks really cool.

The noise issue with the corsair kit is due to the fans. Just replace them with some aftermarket fans that perform better and run quiet. I highly recommend some Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 RPM fans, if you can find them. They are great for radiators (high static pressure) and are very quiet.
