New Video card...
Hey guys, sorry i havent done this sooner and i hope i put it into the right section.. My computer crashed and i had to have it repaired by the local where i just moved, and i got ripped off in price.. Anyway he installed Windows 7 64 bit from Vista, and claims that my video card was done, which i dont agree, i had a Nvidia geforce 280 series, and he replaced it with a Nvidia 560 TI, which keeps crashing me back to desktop... It comes overclocked and has a 1 gig of ram as well... I googled it and people were having problems with it as well, and i also called EA and they couldnt help me out... If anyone can offer some kind of advice it would be greatly appreciated, cause im having freaking withdrawals... thank you...

Re: New Video card...
I suggest you start with a thorough uninstall of your video drivers; I use the method outlined here: Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
Driver Sweeper works fine with Windows 7 64 bit, even though it isn't listed as a supported OS.
Follow the procedure exactly as written, including the reboot into Safe Mode (press and hold F8 while rebooting). After the uninstall is complete, install the latest drivers for the 560 TI (download them before you do the uninstall procedure).
Hope this helps.
By the way, what are you "crashing to desktop" from? Also, was the Win 7 install a fresh installation, or an upgrade?Last edited by Viktor_Olin; 07-06-11 at 09:00 PM.

Crashing to desktop sounds like a driver issue to me. If it persists, RMA the card.

Re: New Video card...
Well the guy who installed windows 7 gave me the box with the 32 and 64 bit version, however it does say upgrade on the box, which he charged me $169 for to install it, so before i go off the deep end on this guy, im hoping to solve this issue... nvidia and EA both cant figure it out... I went through video.con and changed the resolution from 1920x1080 and got to the password screen and then it wouldnt let me log in then i crashed again... i installed the drivers 2-3 times already and tried a bunch of things... If you guys google it, people are saying the same thing also and even for Bf2 bad company... I appreciate the help again guys... My moptherboard is an i7 and was already an RMA about 6 months ago.. So i basically have a brand new computer, this card works great with world of tanks.. but i want to play BF@

Re: New Video card...
Maybe try underclocking your card? I recently bought a new 4890 (to match my existing), and it came factory WAY overclocked. It bluescreened daily.
So, I dropped the clock settings down to match my existing card, and has worked ever since.
Maybe go on NewEgg, and check out the clock settings of some of the other 560's, and set yours to match. You can always set them back if it doesn't work.

Re: New Video card...
Hey thanks guys for responding so fast... I tried almost everything, so Ea is working on it now that i sent them a diag.exe of my specs.... Hard to believe that this card is 3 years neqwer then the old one, and that its supposed to be better, but they r saying that it might be a compatibility issue... Man do i miss playing BF2, im almost ready to go buy a new card so i can play... Anyway they told me to clean my cache out, and my temp folder and drop my sound down to basic which i cant find it on my system the way they have it... I will keep u posted on what they say... Thanks again... Hey Dex how r ya buddy, glad to see ya, talk to you guys soon..
