Re: 1and1 Hosting, scam you when you try to cancel
Isn't everything prepay? If so, and you got that $11.5 issue resolved, then you shouldn't have to pay any outstanding debt they talk about.
You know what I do for cancelling things? I have a Citicard that allows me to use one-time use virtual CC numbers for online purchases. If I ever encounter a place that gives me a hard time cancelling (my gym for example only lets you cancel by letter) I change my CC charges for that place to a virtual number. They can only charge one more time to my account and then charges get refused. Then I just forget about it.

Re: 1and1 Hosting, scam you when you try to cancel
So what do I do with these people? I need some advice. Now their systems fucked thinks everything that happened in 2011 happened in 2012 (exact fees but 2012 instead of 2011) and of course their records do not have any of my payments (I have bank statements that verify i paid the exact amounts they claim i owe).
Last time they contracted to a debt collection agency to bug me...
I've done everything in my power to be civil here, but they are just harassing me now. Every time deal with their billing department to correct some mistake they made, they forgot they fixed it.
How can i threaten? Do i just tell them to fuck off? Do i ignore them and just show the bank statements if they file any thing?

Oh I see, they are trying to claim my account was magically reactivated (even though 12 months later i still cannot log in, if it was reactivated, I'd have to be able to login to reactivate it)
Fuck em, i provided all relevant invoices and bank statements showing I paid said invoices. Told em to take me to court, I will gladly pay court fees to watch
I will gladly pay court costs just to watch their scam fall apart when they try to explain it to a judge.

oh there was text lol! you message looked like nothing but links in the dark theme (text was not visible), haha.
So does this apply still if i given them my debit card? I assume the first 3 do not, but the last 3 do?
How do i refer to these? USC Title 15, Part 1643? Or its it sections and subsections?
Can this affect my credit score, even if they never had my credit card number? I am not familar with our ecnomic, financial systems :< I assume the debt collection agencies are the ones who will make the link between me and my credit and cause the harm?
siteground is awesome, extremely low cost and beyond 99% uptime.
DO NOT, i repeat do not use bluehost (in the remote possibility that you might, let me warn you). I had them loose a clients entire account (db's and filesystem) and they did not even notice! When i inquired, they merely responded, verbatim "Huh, thats interesting"....
Rackspace is AWESOME (especially the cloud) if you are looking for stronger backbone servers. Our forums application has grown quite a bit beyond what they initially advised us would work well on the cloud so i cut them slack on our forums running slow. But they've always treated us as VIP's (and we are some of the smaller ... well medium fish they host) and are always, always a pleasure to deal with their customer support, highly informed, and knowledgable ( a true rarity)
